So after reading something about the DG on LP101 I decided to disassemble one of mine because on of the guys on there disassembled one and it had no security pins in it. I could have sworn by the feel and actions of this lock I disassembled that it had at least one spool inside but as it turns out it has no spools and it is master keyed as you can see in the picture above. I was actually quite surprise to see the master wafers in there but they are there on the pins 2-4. I was under the impression that the military used these because they have security pins inside but so far I haven't seen one disassembled that has security pins although I have only seen 2. I guess the difficulty I used to have picking these was based on the sloppy construction and the difficulty in tensioning them.
Since Yola doesn't currently support comments for blogs you can email me here with the entry title in the subject line and I will add them maually to the entry.
